AUSTIN SWANSON IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MIX THE LATE 70’S TO EARLY 80’S WITH A 90’S KID MAKING INDIE POP AND HYPERPOP IN THE (20)20’S.

Now, that might feel like a lot of numbers, so… how do they all add up? Well, it’s easy:

I (Austin Swanson) was born in 1997 to two parents obsessed with music: one with 80’s/New Wave, and the other with 70’s Yacht Rock. From the Pet Shop Boys to Hall and Oates, The Cure to Ambrosia, these eras of music were the soundtracks to the car rides and starry nights that made up my childhood. As I grew, my music tastes began to encapsulate other, self-explored genres (Pop, RnB, Rap, Jazz, Soul, etc.) but this time-twisted upbringing created a unique situation for a Southern California kid like me. Now, I leverage those deep-dive masterclass-esque years with the head-turning aspects of new genres like Indie Pop and Hyperpop to create music that not only breaks genres… but is inexplicably “Austin”.

In my professional career, I (Austin Swanson) am a graduate of the Los Angeles College of Music, graduating with a Bachelors of Music in Music Producing and Recording. I have had the honor of learning under many talented and knowledgeable people, such as Grammy Award-winning teacher Keith Hancock, former Warner/Chappel VP of Creative Judy Stakee, and former Director of Marketing at Epitaph and Anti Adam LaRue. I have also shared the stage with artists like Jason Mraz, recorded vocals for Disney parades, recorded voices for companies like Disney and Zynga… which have all imparted knowledge that I use to this day.
